UNS C63000 Aluminium Bronze Flanges Manufacturer & Exporter
UNS C63000 is a wrought (not cast) aluminium bronze. Flanges in this grade are machined from rod, bar or forged stock rather than produced as sand castings.

UNS C63000 — Wrought nickel aluminium bronze (Cu-Al-Ni-Fe-Mn-Si)
C63000 is a wrought nickel aluminium bronze containing about 9–11% aluminium, 4–5.5% nickel and 2–4% iron, with small additions of manganese and silicon. It is supplied as rod, bar, shapes and forging stock, and its mechanical properties depend on product form, section size and temper — unlike cast grades, which are specified by a single set of casting minimums.
This makes UNS C63000 a different proposition from the C95xxx cast aluminium bronzes. Wrought structure gives a fine, uniform grain and predictable properties through the section, which suits smaller, highly stressed flanges, bushed or flanged components and parts where casting porosity is undesirable.

| Property | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Tensile, yield and elongation | Depend on product form, section size and temper; take the values from the applicable table in ASTM B150/B150M or B124/B124M or your purchase specification |
Minimum values shown are the tension-test requirements of the stated specification for separately cast test bars. Properties measured on an actual flange casting can differ. Values vary according to applicable specification, material condition and customer requirements. Confirm against the current edition of the specification and your purchase order before ordering.

Physical values are typical reference values for the alloy family, not guaranteed values. Values vary according to applicable specification, material condition and customer requirements.
Manufacturing forms for C63000 flanges
- Flanges machined from solid rod or bar
- Flanges machined from forged blanks, where forging stock is supplied
- Blind, plate and custom flanges to drawing
Machining characteristics
C63000 is the least free-machining grade on this site. Heavy, rigid set-ups, carbide tooling and moderate cutting speeds are standard practice. Because flanges are cut from solid stock, material utilisation and blank size are discussed at the quotation stage for large diameters.
Corrosion characteristics
C63000 offers corrosion resistance comparable with other nickel aluminium bronzes in seawater and many industrial fluids, together with high strength and good wear behaviour. It is widely used for bearings, nuts and fastener-type hardware as well as marine fittings.
Environment, temperature and flow velocity should be reviewed against the grade. Where a long-term seawater piping specification is in place, confirm whether it calls for a cast grade such as C95800 or the wrought C63000.
Why specify C63000 for flanges
- Wrought, uniform structure suited to highly stressed small-to-medium flanges
- High strength with good wear and corrosion behaviour
- No casting porosity concerns because flanges are machined from solid stock
- Suitable for low-volume and special flanges where tooling for a casting is not justified
Cast versus wrought: which to specify?
Cast grades (C95400, C95500, C95800) are economical for complex shapes, hubs and larger production quantities. Wrought C63000 is preferred when the flange is simple, highly loaded or low-volume, or when the specification asks for wrought material. If your drawing names C63000, please state whether bar or forging stock is required, and whether the product specification is B150/B150M, B124/B124M or a customer standard.
Availability
Stock form, size range and temper depend on availability and are confirmed when we receive your drawing and quantity. Values vary according to applicable specification, material condition and customer requirements.
C63000 flanges we manufacture
- Blind FlangesBlind flanges are solid discs used to close the end of a pipe, valve or pressure vessel nozzle.
- Plate FlangesPlate flanges are flat rings with a bore and a bolt-hole pattern.
- Custom / Special FlangesSend your drawing, sample or specification.
- Reducing FlangesA reducing flange connects a pipe of one nominal size to a mating flange of a different, larger size, using a single flange with a reduced bore..
- Loose FlangesLoose flanges are not fixed to the pipe.
- All flange typesSlip-on, threaded, blind, socket-weld, lap joint, plate, reducing, loose and custom.
Inspection and testing
Dimensional and visual inspection are applied to all orders, with material identification and chemistry or mechanical testing as specified in the order. Certificates such as an MTC are issued as agreed at order stage. See Quality.
