UNS C95500 Aluminium Bronze Flanges Manufacturer & Exporter
UNS C95500 is a high-strength nickel-bearing aluminium bronze for heavily loaded components in marine and industrial service.

UNS C95500 — Nickel-bearing aluminium bronze (Cu-Al-Ni-Fe-Mn)
C95500 adds roughly 3–5.5% nickel and manganese to the Cu-Al-Fe base of C95400. The result is a stronger alloy that can also be heat treated to a significantly higher strength level, while retaining the corrosion and wear behaviour typical of aluminium bronzes.
Flanges in UNS C95500 are normally specified where the load case, bolting stresses or abrasive and erosive conditions exceed what C95400 or tin bronzes comfortably handle. They are used on heavy-duty pumps, valves and marine systems.

Physical values are typical reference values for the alloy family, not guaranteed values. Values vary according to applicable specification, material condition and customer requirements.
Manufacturing forms for C95500 flanges
- Sand castings machined to flange dimensions
- Centrifugally or continuously cast stock, where available
- Heavy-section and special flanges to drawing
Machining characteristics
C95500 is the harder of the common cast aluminium bronzes to machine. Rigid tooling, carbide inserts and conservative cutting parameters are used for facing, bore and drilling operations; heat-treated material is best machined with allowance planned before final finishing.
Corrosion characteristics
C95500 resists corrosion and erosion-corrosion in seawater and many industrial waters, and it is widely used for marine hardware. For the most demanding long-duration seawater piping, nickel aluminium bronze C95800 is the grade most often specified.
As with all aluminium bronzes, correct chemistry control and, where specified, heat treatment are important to corrosion behaviour.
Why specify C95500 for flanges
- Higher strength than C95400 in both as-cast and heat-treated conditions
- Good wear, galling and fatigue behaviour for loaded joints
- Suited to heavy-section flanges
- Good performance in marine and industrial water environments
High-strength aluminium bronze flanges
When customers search for high-strength aluminium bronze flanges, they are usually looking for one of two things: higher mechanical strength than C95400 in the as-cast condition, or a grade that can be heat treated to higher strength. UNS C95500 addresses both. The specific condition required — as-cast or heat treated — should always be stated in the enquiry because it changes the delivered properties.
Selection notes
Flange thickness, bolt-hole spacing and facing finish are largely independent of alloy, but the higher strength of C95500 can allow wall or section reductions in some designs. Any change from a standard dimensional table must be agreed against your design code.
C95500 flanges we manufacture
- Blind FlangesBlind flanges are solid discs used to close the end of a pipe, valve or pressure vessel nozzle.
- Slip-On FlangesSlip-on flanges are machined from bronze and copper-alloy grades so that the pipe slides into the bore and is secured by fillet welding or brazing, depending on material and procedure..
- Socket-Weld FlangesSocket-weld flanges have a recess into which the pipe is inserted.
- Plate FlangesPlate flanges are flat rings with a bore and a bolt-hole pattern.
- Custom / Special FlangesSend your drawing, sample or specification.
- All flange typesSlip-on, threaded, blind, socket-weld, lap joint, plate, reducing, loose and custom.
Inspection and testing
Dimensional and visual inspection are applied to all orders, with material identification and chemistry or mechanical testing as specified in the order. Certificates such as an MTC are issued as agreed at order stage. See Quality.
