UNS C95400 Aluminium Bronze Flanges Manufacturer & Exporter
UNS C95400 is a heat-treatable aluminium bronze that combines high strength with good wear and corrosion performance, making it a common choice for demanding pump, valve and marine components.

UNS C95400 — Aluminium bronze (Cu-Al-Fe)
C95400 belongs to the aluminium bronze family, where aluminium (about 10–11.5%) and iron are the principal alloying elements. Compared with tin bronzes and gunmetals it offers considerably higher strength and hardness, and it forms a tenacious aluminium-rich oxide film that supports corrosion resistance in many service environments.
For flanges, UNS C95400 suits applications where mechanical load, wear or seawater exposure rule out softer bronzes. It is a typical pump and valve-body alloy, so a C95400 flange pairs naturally with C95400 casings and bodies in the same system.

Manufacturing forms for C95400 flanges
- Sand castings machined to flange dimensions
- Centrifugally or continuously cast stock machined to flange profile, where available
- Special and custom flanges to drawing
Machining characteristics
C95400 is machinable with rigid set-ups, sharp carbide tooling and adequate coolant. It is harder on tooling than leaded bronzes, so stock allowances, speeds and feeds are set accordingly for facing, boring and drilling of flange blanks.
Corrosion characteristics
The alloy resists corrosion in a range of fresh-water, brackish and seawater environments and is also used with many non-oxidising acids and alkalis. It has good resistance to cavitation and erosion-corrosion compared with softer bronzes, though it is not an alternative to C95800 where long-term seawater service is the primary design driver.
Like other aluminium bronzes, C95400 should be evaluated for dealuminification in stagnant or poorly-controlled chemistry environments. Service conditions should be reviewed when selecting the grade.
Why specify C95400 for flanges
- High strength relative to tin bronzes and gunmetals
- Good wear resistance and resistance to galling
- Heat-treatable for higher strength when required
- Good performance in many fresh and saline water environments
C95400 compared with neighbouring grades
Moving from C95400 to UNS C95500 adds nickel and manganese for higher strength; moving to UNS C95800 trades some strength for a composition tuned for seawater service. Where the choice is open, we can discuss the trade-off against your duty conditions at enquiry stage.

C95400 flanges we manufacture
- Blind FlangesBlind flanges are solid discs used to close the end of a pipe, valve or pressure vessel nozzle.
- Slip-On FlangesSlip-on flanges are machined from bronze and copper-alloy grades so that the pipe slides into the bore and is secured by fillet welding or brazing, depending on material and procedure..
- Plate FlangesPlate flanges are flat rings with a bore and a bolt-hole pattern.
- Loose FlangesLoose flanges are not fixed to the pipe.
- Custom / Special FlangesSend your drawing, sample or specification.
- All flange typesSlip-on, threaded, blind, socket-weld, lap joint, plate, reducing, loose and custom.
Inspection and testing
Dimensional and visual inspection are applied to all orders, with material identification and chemistry or mechanical testing as specified in the order. Certificates such as an MTC are issued as agreed at order stage. See Quality.
