Inspection across the manufacturing route
The scope of inspection for each order follows the drawing, applicable standard and customer requirements. Third-party inspection or special tests can be arranged where they are requested in the enquiry.
Raw Material Verification
Incoming castings, bar or forging stock are checked against the grade and specification named in the order, with supplier or foundry documents reviewed where applicable.
Material Identification
Grade identification is maintained through production so that the finished flange can be traced to the material for which a certificate is issued.
Dimensional Inspection
Outside diameter, thickness, bore and key dimensions are checked against the drawing or standard using calibrated measuring equipment.
Visual Inspection
Castings and machined surfaces are examined for porosity, cracks, inclusions, surface defects and workmanship.
Machining Inspection
Machined features, tolerances and finishes are checked during and after machining.
Thread Inspection
For threaded flanges, threads are gauged against the thread standard stated in the order.
Flange Facing Inspection
Flat, raised or custom faces are checked for dimensions, flatness and finish.
Bore Inspection
Bore diameter, counterbore or socket depth is verified against the drawing.
Drilling / PCD Inspection
Pitch circle diameter, number of holes and hole size are verified.
Surface Inspection
Surface condition and finish are examined to the requirement of the order.
Final Inspection
Completed flanges are checked against the order before release, including marking where specified.
Packing Inspection
Quantities, marking and packing for domestic or export shipment are checked against the order.
